Each episode of Euphoria’s second season is more enlightening than the next, to put it mildly. But the latest one, episode six, reveals one tiny detail in Nate Jacobs’s bedroom that’s begging to be unpacked: his monogrammed pillowcases.
At first, anyone might think Nate would be the type of guy to have a single pillow in a case that’s never been washed. But as a major control freak and a kid from a well-off family, it makes sense. Nate—the man who *insert literally anything he’s ever done*—probably didn’t go asking for this personalized bedroom detail. His mom is likely the brains behind the look, which fits right into his seemingly clean-cut aesthetic. (Let’s not even get started on the airplane photo above his bed that looks like it’s coming right for the onlooker.)
What makes this detail a bit more confusing is that a monogram on anything seems like the type of thing Nate would make fun of another person for having. But the fact that he has it on his pillowcases at home as opposed to an item he’d take into public, like a backpack or socks, potentially enforces the idea that he hides and hates on things he actually likes (a classic bully trope). Not to mention, the monogram is fairly big and placed dead center on the pillows, so he's clearly not bothered by it.
