The Pipeline Mosque Foundation has sent 700 sets of brand-new bed linens to the eight largest hospitals in the nation, continuing a tradition that started a few years ago.

The donations came from a well-known Gambian businessman, Ahman Ghanim Diab of Emporium, who also sent the Kanifing General Hospital a check for D50,000 as part of his yearly contribution to the maintenance of the facility’s morgue.

He made the gesture as part of his never-ending commitment to improving and looking after the ill.

Basiru Drammeh, CEO of Kanifing General Hospital, welcomed everyone and thanked the foundation for its “continuous assistance” over the years.

He recognized that without the foundation’s ongoing funding, the morgue would not be able to accommodate patients, adding stress to the nation’s primary referral hospital.

He praised the foundation’s humanitarian assistance to the nation’s healthcare industry and said that the most recent act will greatly save government spending, particularly on buying new bed linens.

For the sake of the Gambia’s citizens on both sides, Drammeh stated that the link between these two institutions will be further enhanced.

“This is yet another offering, and it has even started to become a practice that the foundation would provide luxurious bedding to the healthcare system each year. Furthermore, there is a special relationship between the two institutions; the foundation’s collaboration with the health system goes beyond simply donating bed sheets.

He said the organization will donate funding each year for the facility’s morgue to be upgraded and renovated.
