Richwood Winery Closing Celebration: Richwood Winery will end its 12-year run with a closing celebration and retirement party for winery coordinator Deb Krogsgaard, starting at 1 p.m.; Doug Thompson will perform from 4 to 6 p.m. The winery will officially close its doors after the last guest goes home.

Tamarac Fall Festival: The annual Fall Festival at Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge will take place from noon to 4 p.m. There will be children's activity stations, nature walks, photography workshops, a phone photo contest, family photo booth and more, all taking place at the Visitor Center, Discovery Center and points in between. An "early bird" photo safari at 11 a.m., with photographer Denise Warweg and refuge manager Kent Sundseth, will take participants by carpool, behind the gates to one of the Refuge's best spots for fall photography; and you can also take a scenic photo cruise on the Blackbird Wildlife Drive to soak in all the season has to offer. The Friends of Tamarac will be serving lunch for just $5 per plate; all other activities are free and open to the public.

Anime and Manga Club: Anime and manga fans are invited to geek out over their favorite shows and stories, starting at 4 p.m. at the Detroit Lakes Public Library. A different theme is discussed at each monthly meet-up, and snacks are always available.

Candidate Forum: The Detroit Lakes Area League of Women Voters and Chamber of Commerce are co-hosting a candidate forum for all 2022 Becker County commissioner and sheriff candidates, starting at 6 p.m. in the community room at the Detroit Lakes Police Department, 807 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. Holmes Art Club Kickoff: The kickoff for the Holmes Art Club's fall season takes place at 4:30 p.m. for grades 1-6 and 6:30 p.m. for grades 7-12, in the Holmes Art Cellar at 806 Summit Ave., Detroit Lakes. Eiter will provide information about the project, and answer questions. The meeting will start with a sing-a-long led by Carol Shipley and Kris Tovson! Family Fun Movie Night: Come to the Detroit Lakes Public Library at 5 p.m. for a special screening of the 2022 animated movie "The Bad Guys," based on the popular children's chapter book series.

Meatball Supper To Go: The Detroit Lakes United Methodist Church will host its annual meatball supper from 4 to 6:30 p.m., with "to-go" meals only. Menu includes two meatballs, mashed potatoes and gravy, roll, green beans, coleslaw and dessert; cost is $12 per plate, with cash, credit cards and checks all accepted for payment. Free Movie Screening: A free showing of the family-friendly animated movie "Hotel Transylvania" will take place at 10 a.m. inside Cinemagic Washington Square 7 Theaters in Detroit Lakes. Concessions available for purchase starting at 9:30 a.m.

Frazee Fall Extravaganza: A fall-themed craft and vendor show takes place at the Frazee Event Center, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., followed by a "Christmas in October" open house at Forest Edge Gallery, 4-7 p.m., with live music, fire pits, concessions and horse-drawn wagon rides. Open to the public.

Vergas Hairyman Festival: The Vergas community will host an all-day "Hairyman Festival," including an ATV trail ride, scavenger hunt, kids games, trap shooting demonstration, axe throwing, a live performance by the band Whiskey Business, bean bag tourney, beer pong, food and beverage trucks and so much more! Dancing Into the Future: Come to the Detroit Lakes Public Library for a performance and presentation on Native American jingle dresses and dancing, starting at 1 p.m. Four different jingle dresses will be featured, along with a drum circle and dance demonstrations. Free and open to the public.

Comprehensive Driving Class: A full, eight-hour driving course will take place on Sept. 21-22, 5-9 p.m. each night, at the ITOW Veterans Museum, 805 W. Main, Perham. Rotary Blood Screening: The Detriot Lakes Noon Rotary Club's Community Blood Screening is Sept. 20-23 from 7-9:30 a.m. in the Essentia Health St. Mary’s EMS Building, 225 Park St., Detroit Lakes. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.; no pre-registration is necessary. Cost is $40 per person, and the screening covers collection of blood samples, analysis, results and refreshments after sample is drawn.

Pumpkin Fest: The city of Lake Park will host its annual Pumpkin Fest fall celebration on Sept. 22-24, beginning with the Lil' Miss Pumpkin Fest Pageant on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. and concluding with a street dance at the Lake Park Liquor Store, 8:30 p.m. until closing on Saturday, Sept. 25. There will also be contests for pumpkin and scarecrow decorating, yard decorating, pumpkin carving, a weigh-in contest for the largest pumpkin, a pumpkin brunch bake-off and more.
